NEW DELHI: The BJP national executive has decided
to observe May 11 as ``Resurgent India day'' to
mark the first anniversary of the Pokhran nuclear
tests.

Announcing this here on Sunday after the
executive meeting, Union home minister L K Advani
said the chairman of the coordination committee
of the BJP and its allies and defence minister
George Fernandes was in touch with others to
ensure that every coalition partner participated
in this programme.

Through the celebrations, the BJP would explain
to the countrymen how Prime Minister Atal Behari
Vajpayee was able to provide security to the
nation with these nuclear blasts and establish
peace with Pakistan by undertaking the historic
bus ride to Lahore.

Replying to questions, he said details of the
programme were being worked out.
