TitlKar Seva the happiest moment for mAdvani Author: PTI Publication: The Hindu DatJune 23, 2001 New Delhi, June 13 (PTI): Home Minister L K Advani today recalled before Liberhan Ayodhya Commission that one of the happiest moments of his life was when a radio bulletin broke the news about performance of Kar Seva at Ayodhya on October 30, 1990, despite barricades put up by the then Uttar Pradesh Government to prevent them from reaching there. ``We were part of the movement, a movement which was sought to be stifled by the then Government in a manner which was unprecedented. All modes of transport to Ayodhya had been stopped. It was declared publicly that not a single bird would be allowed to enter Ayodhya,'' he said. Despite all these barriers, the manner in which the Kar Sevaks entered Ayodhya and performed Kar Seva represented a kind of symbolism of great value, he said, adding when he heard this over radio he felt it was one of his happiest moments in life. Advani said he was in detention at that point of time at Mata Tila near Jhansi but was allowed to use a transistor. ``The All- India Radio did not report it but the BBC report that Kar Sevaks succeeded in entering Ayodhya and performed Kar Seva was a victory for those involved in the movement,'' he said. BJP and RSS have historic nexus Advani said before the Commission that the BJP and RSS shared historic ties and the ban imposed by Janata Party on erstwhile Janasangh members not to associate themselves with RSS saw the birth of BJP. Advani said ``we were part of the Janata Party till 1980. In that year a resolution was passed by the party that none of its members could have any affiliation with RSS''. ``This is what made us launch BJP.
