The only Indian to head an American law school, Agnihotri, who has also been made ambassador-at-large for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and People of Indian Origin (PIO), said he did not anticipate any problem in working with Indian ambassador to US Lalit Mansingh. "We are working for the same cause. There should be no problem," the 68-year-old former additional district judge of Delhi, whose appointment has come in for criticism due to his close links with the Overseas Friends of BJP, said. Agnihotri said his main task was to help in building bridges between NRIs and India and NRIs across the globe, besides trying to make NRIs a powerful block in their respective countries. "My first priority is to ensure the success of Prime Minister A B Vajpayee's coming visit to New York," he said. His RSS background and links with BJP, Agnihotri says "is not relevant for my selection." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ofbjp.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------- A worldwide community of BJP's friends, supporters and activists: Friends of the BJP - Worldwid http://www.ofbjp.org/fob ----------------------------------------------------------------------
